Friday’s  MEETING IS CANCELED

Hello,<<First Name>> .We hope and pray you and your family are well and continue protecting yourselves. We are canceling our GAP meetings until further notice, with a review of circumstances. How to Stay Calm During the Chinese-virus (AKA, Corona virus) Crisis

Does God Know Our Situation? YES! Jesus Appears to His Disciples, Has He Appeared To You For Your Confession And Communion?

GAP teacher, John Lawson, reminds us that discouragement and frustration can cause some of us to walk away from the fellowship. But we hope that is not what is happening in the response to the pandemic, so much as its forced realization of our frail grasp on life. As we Zoom in and seek to see Jesus, he does not always seem to be around. Worship has lost the element of corporate confession. Cognitive dissonance can grow. And that is a problem for its lack of closure, despite drive by blessings and Drive-In Church. All this can cause some of us to live in the past imagining Communion in a way that is not currently possible. It can cause some of us to question God’s care because of a lack of fellowship purposed for worship.

We all face, at times, a discouraged walk to Emmaus, but can also experience something along the way to help us to return to collective worship and face the future unafraid. Jesus Appears to His Disciples, Has He Appeared To You For Your Confession And Communion?

Today’s Prayer
O Father, you are righteous and holy, gracious and merciful. Thank you for claiming me as your child. Thank you for not leaving me alone, left only with my own power, as I try to live for you. I intentionally submit to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, knowing that the Spirit’s presence in my life is a gift from your love to help me live as your beloved child. Thank you for giving us such sweet assurance! I am thankful to know that there is no doubt that I belong to you; the presence of the Holy Spirit within me, the Spirit’s intercession for me, and the testimony of the Spirit to you that I am your child give me this assurance. For this gift of grace, and thousands of others, I thank you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

GAP-  GODLY ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNERS

Iron Men come together Friday mornings at 7:00 for 60 minutes, a 15-30 minute teaching time followed by breakouts in groups of 10-20 men to discuss our week, the teaching, open and close with prayer together.

Jesus, who was the Master Teacher, constantly used the teaching method most suitable for His audience, and a quick search through the scriptures shows that Jesus used a variety of many teaching methods. Included in the different tools Christ used were the scriptures, parables, inspired questions, discussion, logic, object lessons, analogies, preaching, silence, repetition, prophecy, experience, observation and testimony.

Each week, for one hour, participating men will be pared with a handpicked Godly leader with whom they are familiar with, that is well versed in a particular Biblical topic or men’s issue. Your leader will cover today’s tough issues that we face. In confidence together; we will discuss these issues head-on and  you will find honest and frank discussions with, biblical, practical solutions (and pull no punches).

We cannot live a holy life apart from the help of the Holy Spirit for, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

You will be encouraged to find another man (just like you) who knows The Holy Spirit inspired the Word of God and only Christians who are filled with the Spirit can understand the true meaning of God’s Word.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”(Romans 12:2)

At our advanced Bible Study, we ask that you use the Holy Spirit for discernment. The Spirit operates through scripture. Through biblical discernment, you can discover wisdom and direction. Without it, you’ll fail to distinguish God’s purposes and word from your purposes and words. Then again whenever we preach, we need to see what Jesus has to say on any topic. After all, the preacher’s opinion is irrelevant. What really counts is, “what does God say?”  In that light, keep reading your Bible!

As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. (1 John 2:27)

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. (John 14:26)

Jesus told his followers, “By this all everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35).

Paul reminds us that we believe in a “God of hope” who can “fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

Come Now, Let Us Reason Together!
To imitate Christ, it is essential to ask God for help, through His Spirit, so we can humbly obey God and bring our thoughts, attitudes and actions in line with His. We must allow His Spirit to become the guiding force in our lives to produce the qualities of true Christianity. To be “All In”, we constantly have to ask ourselves whether we are really being led by God’s Spirit or are resisting it.
