Favorite Verse † from Richard Battaglia

2nd Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Richard is from Garden City, New York. He was raised Catholic. He received his undergraduate degree from Williams College in Massachusetts and a graduate degree from Wharton University in Pennsylvania.

In 1982, Richard took a marketing position with General Mills in Minneapolis. He met his wife, Trishia, shortly after. That same year, he became born-again.

Richard and Trisha married in 1984; in1986, their son, James was born. Then, in 1995, the family left “the frozen tundra” for Sunny and warm, Naples, Florida.

Most would not know that Richard has had Macular degeneration since the age of ten. However, that has not stopped him from playing his guitar at GAP most Fridays as well as gigs around town with a friend, Jeff who plays electric violin.

The duo is called Gypsy Sojourn,” Besides gypsy Jazz, they play classical and gypsy standards. You may have seen them at the Naples. Botanical Garden, in downtown Naples, at one of our libraries, and an art gallery, Mercado, at Marco Island’s Center for Performing Arts. The duo also plays private parties.

Richard’s other favorite activity is sharing the Lord with people who may not know Him. He loves, Digging into scriptures.
