My Favorite Scripture Verse †: 1John 5:13. “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life…”

Growing up in a Jewish Family was a great experience. While thinking you are a chosen person is very reassuring, but not realistic. My early years were filled with attending temple worship every Sabbath.

I was bar Mitzpahed at the age of 13. The age of responsibility and decision to continue in the worship and faith. I drifted for many years further away from my roots. My indoctrination from my dad was to be successful and to do that meant making lots of money. And that’s exactly what I did for many years until the age of 30.

“What good will it be for someone (like me) to gain The Whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? (Matthew 16:26)

When I was in high school, I visualized my goals: Establish my own business, Get Married, Build my own house with an inground pool- kidney shaped of course, Make lots of money, Buy a new Ford Thunderbird, Have two children, Have multiple businesses, Enjoy the good life in the “candy store!”

I was the prodigal son, no, not the wayward one, the one who had everything.

“And you were dead in your sins” (Ephesians 2:1)

So, the journey began. Who am I?  Why am I Jewish?  Why are some Christians?  Are we born that way?  Who is Jesus?  Why do men always use his name?  Roots

And so, the journey continued with reading the Bible every day and every chance I could ……

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13)

“Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7)

“Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those of Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” (Acts 17:11)

“And what are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized and wash away your sins calling on His name?” (Acts 22:16)

Am I the only Jew that believes in Jesus?” Joel Rosenberg 2,000 1977
